Emergency Medicine Residency

Page Content
First established in June 2012, the AUBMC Emergency Medicine Residency Program is a four-year training program.  In the fall of 2016, the program earned its  ACGME-I accreditation,  and thus became the first Emergency Medicine Graduate Education Program in the country and one of a few in the region to receive this prestigious certification. The ACGME-I accreditation confirms that the program meets or exceeds the highest standards of a comprehensive, sophisticated and in depth training experience that will graduate emergency physicians competent to work in any setting in the world.

All core faculty members are  Emergency Medicine trained physicians.

Our mission is to educate residents who present outstanding clinical skills, and train them in the fundamental skills, knowledge, and humanistic qualities of Emergency Medicine.

The curriculum is based on a process of progressive responsibility that takes residents on a journey from novice intern to independent attending staff level.

Trainees are exposed to the full spectrum of acute care illnesses in adult and pediatric patients, in addition to structured didactic sessions and hands-on workshops.

Together with the  robust clinical experience, the program offers integrated research and administrative rotations that eventually lead to the  development of skills essential for leadership in the field.

Five categorical positions are offered on a  yearly basis.
