Shared Governance Structure

Page Content

The Nursing Services Department has adopted participative management style. Nurses at all levels and settings are involved in shared governance councils and participate in unit, divisional, departmental, and organizational level decision making processes. Nurses have a voice in all aspects of their practice. The following nursing shared governance council structure exists at AUBMC and covers clinical practice, nursing professional development, evidence-based practice, research, quality, innovation, and work-life integration.

Moreover, clinical nurses analyze data and collaborate with the nurse managers and nurse leaders for clinical affairs in setting the unit budget and staffing plans.

Nurses at all levels are also members in interprofessional decision-making groups at the divisional and organizational levels through collaborative practice teams and medical board committees.
